In a different light, Imperialism isn't all bad. Then Europeans brought important things like medicine, better farming techniques, and wealth. Even though many people were put of the job as farmers, more food was being produced, and fewer people starved. The building of the Suez Canal brought loads of wealth to Egypt. Also less people would die of disease in those countries because of the new European medicine.
Ok - you make some good points here. Can you change "put of" to "put off"? And it might be more true to say that Suez brought tons of wealth THROUGH Egypt, typically flowing into European hands, than it brought to Egypt as a whole.
