Urbanization & Indusrialization

Recap: In the late 19th century the world was going through a big change. Advances where being made in farming and production. Not as many people where need to work in the fields. But the factories needed workers. So the farmers had to move in into the cities so that they could be close to the factory. This process is called urbanization an it was eventually led to the cities of today. These cities were smelly, had no sewage, and most of the people lived in slums. The city builders eventually figured that adding public parks, wider roads, and sewage systems led to a better environment for everyone.

Revisit & Reflect: In my personal opinion I think that New York, Ny would be the most interesting city to live in. There has to be so much to do there!! Central Park was voted the number one attraction in New York. I mean i can imagine why, everyone says it is beautiful and there most be so many interesting people to watch! Ellis Island is a big part of our countries history. It was a main immigration port for our country and must be absolutely filled with history. It is also considered to be one of the best places to visit in New York, Ny. The city is huge! there is no way you could ever see everything, and that is why i think it would be the most interesting city to live in.
