The modern Olympics are accredited to Pierre de Coubertin. He believed that exercises and sport was important to becoming a well rounded person. After people didn't seem to like his idea, he decided he wanted to revive the old school Olympics. He eventually got deligates from 9 countries and finally cought some interest. The decided to make him in charge of the IOC (International Olympic Committee) and get the games started.
